May is AAPI Heritage Month! In case you don't know, AAPI stands for Asian American and Pacific Islander. According to the Asian Pacific Institute, this term includes “all people of Asian, Asian American or Pacific Islander ancestry, who trace their origins to the countries, states, jurisdictions and/or the diasporic communities of these geographic regions.”
Have you heard the acronym CASA? It stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates and these volunteers commit to serving as a CASA for one court case at a time, to be a voice for the children involved.
During today's episode of Shop for Good, presented by Wells Fargo, I enjoyed learning about the work of Launch Leadership.
Launch Leadership provides transformational leadership development services to students grades 6-12 from all over the country. Their one-of-a-kind curriculum and staff of trained facilitators help students discover their unique leadership potential. Students return to their homes, schools and communities ready to make a positive impact.
This month, SHARE Omaha is honoring Military Appreciation Month by recognizing our troops and veterans, and amplifying our nonprofit members who support them. And of course, these incredible organization who support Military, need your support as well!

Celebrated since 1949, May is Mental Health Awareness Month. This is a national movement to raise awareness about mental health. Now is the time to provide support, fight stigma, educate the public and advocate.
The Kim Foundation strives to increase awareness around mental health and suicide prevention. The belief that no one is immune from these issues sits at the core of what they do, as they offer awareness programming to every pocket of our community.
