Heart Heroes provides support to children and families affected by Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) through the distribution of superhero capes, programs to offer hope, and awareness initiatives. A Heart Hero is a child born with an abnormality of the heart that is present at birth called a Congenital Heart Defect. Every 32 hours a Heart Hero is born in the state of Nebraska. Many will undergo open-heart surgery, facing developmental and cognitive delays, among numerous other health issues. Our signature superhero capes symbolize strength and bravery, empowering these children as they navigate their medical journeys. However, we do more than just provide capes—we build a community, offer critical resources, and spread awareness about the challenges of CHD.
