I received a donation error that I don't understand. What should I do?

 

Does SHARE Omaha charge nonprofits or donors?

  • No. SHARE Omaha is a free resource for nonprofits and donors.

     

Is my donation 100% tax deductible?

  • Yes!

 

Is there a processing fee for donation transactions?

  • Yes. Stripe, the payment processor for SHAREomaha.org, charges a low credit card processing or ACH fee. About 90% of donors choose to cover this fee. Your entire donation, including fees, is tax deductible.  

 

How many nonprofits can I give to in one transaction?

  • You can give to up to 10 nonprofits in one transaction. If you wish to give to more than 10 nonprofits, simply start a new cart and continue giving after processing your first batch of 10 donations. 

 

What donation payment forms are accepted?

  • Credit/debit card, ACH and mobile wallet payments are accepted.

 

When do nonprofits receive my donation? 

  • If you donate via credit/debit card or mobile wallet, your gift is deposited into the nonprofits' accounts almost immediately. ACH donations may take a few business days to process with your bank. Nonprofits simply need to access their Stripe accounts to receive access to your donated funds. 

 

Can I make a monthly or quarterly gift? 

  • Yes! SHARE Omaha's recurring donation feature allows donors to make automated donations to a nonprofit on a regular schedule: weekly, monthly or quarterly. You can set this up during your payment process.

 

How do I cancel or update payment information for a recurring donation?

 

Is my donation safe and secure?

  • Yes! SHARE Omaha uses Stripe, a PCI Level I compliant payment service to ensure that all financial data is secure. You can learn about Stripe’s security precautions.

 

How will I receive a tax receipt for my donations?

  • You will receive an immediate thank you email and receipt from SHARE Omaha for your charitable contribution(s), which you should save for your tax purposes. 

     

May I send a check? 

  • Physical checks can be sent directly to your intended nonprofit recipient. Mailing addresses can be found on each nonprofit's SHARE Omaha profile and we recommend calling or emailing the nonprofit organization to verify their preferred mailing address for physical checks. 

 

What is the SHARE Fund?

  • As a part of your donation checkout process, you may be asked if you'd like to add a gift to the SHARE Fund. Donations to SHARE Fund allow SHARE Omaha to continue to be a free resource for nonprofits to increase everyday donations and volunteer support.

     

What is the minimum donation amount?

  • $1. We believe everyone should have access to support our community.

 

Can I get a refund?

  • We, unfortunately, are not able to refund donations. Please contact us with your concerns at info@shareomaha.org. 

     

I made a donation and forgot to add my Group Hub during checkout. How do I attribute my donation to my group's cumulative goals?

  • Email info@shareomaha.org and we can assist in getting your donation attributed to your Group Hub's profile.

     

My company has a donation matching program. How do I make sure my donation is matched?

  • Ask your employer to send the matching funds directly to the appropriate nonprofit(s) and not to SHARE Omaha. You will receive a donation receipt via email with your donation details.
