At Ease USA
Beth Kramer of At Ease USA shares, "Mental health issues affect individuals across all socioeconomic classes, and nonprofits such as At Ease USA provide essential support and care. Additionally, AEU works to raise awareness of mental health issues impacting our military and medical families and reduce the stigma associated with mental health. Donations made to AEU help expand services to underserved communities and offer programs that promote resilience and well-being. Overall, supporting organizations such as AEU helps build more understanding and a compassionate society, improving lives and communities."
At Ease USA is making the metro area a better place by providing affordable and accessible mental health services to individuals from all socioeconomic backgrounds. They focus on supporting veterans, who often face unique mental health challenges due to their service. By conducting educational programs and awareness campaigns, At Ease USA reduces the stigma associated with mental health issues, fostering a more informed and supportive community. They offer crisis intervention services, helping individuals in immediate need and working to prevent mental health crises before they escalate. By partnering with other local nonprofits, healthcare providers, and community organizations, At Ease USA enhances the overall network of support available in the metro area. Through their programs and services, At Ease USA helps build resilience within the community, promoting mental well-being and healthier relationships among residents.
"One crucial thing we need from our community is increased volunteer support. Volunteers are the backbone of our programs and services, helping us reach more individuals in need, facilitate events, and spread awareness about mental health. With more volunteers, we can extend our outreach efforts, provide more comprehensive support, and ensure that no one in our community has to face mental health challenges alone," says Beth.
For All Counseling Services
Makenzie Scott of For All Counseling Services shares, "The impact and importance of mental health is often overlooked. Donating to a mental health organization helps increase awareness and decrease the stigma associated with mental health."
For All Counseling Services is working to increase access to mental health evaluations for people who have immigrated or are seeking asylum. A mental health evaluation is often an essential factor when courts are deciding the outcome of an immigration or asylum case. Unfortunately, many people who need this service cannot access it due to cost or language barriers. At For All Counseling, we believe everyone's story matters. By increasing access to mental health evaluations, For All Counseling is working to ensure that all people reserve due process in our legal system.
"For All Counseling needs help spreading the word about our services to communities that do not typically access mental health services. We want to ensure that all people who need a mental health evaluation for their immigration or asylum case can access one. We offer sliding-scale mental health evaluations, evaluations in Spanish or English, and interpreters for other languages. If you are affiliated with people who have immigrated or are seeking asylum, please inform them about our services!"

No Shame Ministries
Larry Derksen Jr. of No Shame Ministries shares, "There simply are not enough resources available to address the mental health crisis in our community. With psychiatrists and therapists typically available from 8AM-5PM, Monday - Friday, community resources must fill the gaps to provide care to the hurting."
No Shame Ministries is multiplying mental wellness support groups (safe places) for individuals and families dealing with mental health distress. They are also multiplying volunteer mental health coaches to help individuals and families navigate the first 90 days of their mental health journey. No Shame also sponsors educational events and proactive mental wellness programs to address mental distress before it becomes a mental health disorder.
"No Shame Ministries needs finances and volunteers. We have all been impacted by mental health or suicide. The needs far outweigh the resources. We can only meet the needs as individuals like you give of your time and resources. Only together can we keep "Filling Gaps, Continuing Stories." This is the No Shame Ministries slogan," says Larry.
Elite Disability Services of Nebraska
Patrick Hayes of Elite Disability Services of Nebraska shares, "Not only do nonprofits rely upon the goodwill of the community for viability, but we also depend on their unique vantage points to help draw attention to the issue of mental health awareness. The investment in this cause empowers those suffering from mental health issues with an unwavering stance of understanding and enables us to invest time and resources toward the care they so desperately need."
Elite Disability Services of Nebraska proudly serves as the opposition to the blind eye and deaf ear approach to mental health awareness, disability services, and participant advocacy. They are a haven where ideas are transformed into action for anyone suffering from a lack of care in these areas because we believe no one fights alone. "Their cause is our cause, and when our cause receives the attention it deserves, we’re able to help claim victory, one day at a time."
"Our collective need is two-fold. Empowerment through financial investment aids us in providing the care that is so sorely needed, but we also request your collaboration. Investing in our nonprofit will shape the future of care in our community, and your collaboration assists us in identifying possibilities. Together we will start by doing what is necessary, then we will do what is possible, and suddenly we will be doing the 'impossible,'" says Patrick.
