Provides affordable, high-quality mental health evaluations to low-income individuals involved in immigration and asylum proceedings.
We are a group of therapists offering affordable, language accessible, mental health evaluations to immigrants and asylum seekers. Our goal is to increase access to mental health evaluations for all people, especially those who face barriers to care. All of our therapists speak Spanish and we pay for and coordinate interpreters for other languages. Our sliding scale fee and language accessible services allow us to provide psychosocial evaluations to people who otherwise would not have access to this necessary service.
A mental health evaluation is a crucial piece of evidence in immigration and asylum cases. The evaluation may be used to explain a mental health diagnosis, detail trauma that has been experienced, or discuss potential effects that family separation would have on an individual. Without a psychosocial evaluation, an individual's story may never be fully heard by the courts.
A donation to our organization will fund our sliding scale fee and general operations so we can offer subsidized evaluations to low-income immigrants and asylum seekers.
