What We Do

Our program is designed to assist individuals with intellectual, physical, and behavioral disabilities by providing quality care, individual choices, integration, and innovation. We offer a variety of services (i,e., day services, job development, residential, and transportation services). 

Our Day Services programs:

Community Speaks:  Our community integration “Community Speaks” program provides volunteering, attending community activities with a purpose, fitness activities, life skills, and social development. Fridays are called “Discover Omaha “the group does fun activities i.e., bowling, moving, museums and visiting restaurants.

Art You:  Our day supports “Art You” program provides art activities, culinary, photography, and music therapy taught by a board certified (MT-BC) Music Therapist.  This group goes on one outing a week: Friday’s for “Discover Omaha “the group does fun activities i.e., bowling, moving, museums and visiting restaurants.

Pathways: Our Pathways program recognized as a Vocational Rehabilitation Provider in the state of Nebraska. Our pathways program is designed to provide individuals with intellectual, physical, and behavioral disabilities with a path to competitive employment in a variety of opportunities located throughout the Omaha area.  The pathways program is designed to help our individuals prepare for, connect, and obtain competitive employment with the support of our employment specialist. 

Elite Studio: Our studio is an offsite photography studio that offers an inclusive environment for our participants to learn the art of photography. This environment offers accessible camera, tailored instruction, peer support, and a place to showcase their work.  Participants are allowed to choose subjects of photography that interest them. This makes the learning process more engaging, meaningful, and fun.  EDS also holds an “Art Show” twice a year for the participants to sell their art projects created within the ‘Art You’ program.

Residential Services:  Our Residential Shared Living is a residence for no more than two individuals with developmental disabilities and owned or leased by the subcontractor providing supports.  These services are individually tailored supports to improve skills related to living in the community in the most integrated setting appropriate to the individuals’ needs. independent living is provided in the participant’s private home. This service includes activities of daily living i.e., but not limited to: Personal hygiene, household chores, meal preparation, activities in the community, and social and leisure skills.  

Independent living is provided in the participant’s private home. Independent living is an intermittent service provided to an individual who doesn’t require continuous supports 24 hours a day. 

Supported Family Living is provided in the individuals private family home.

  • Our participants volunteer at several places in the Omaha area (i.e., Zoo, Red Cross, Town and Country, Catholic Charities, and Abide to name a few).
  • EDS serves over 30 participants and growing!
  • EDS just moved into our new facility that is over 12,000 sf.
