You’re never too young to give back. And you’re never too old for adventurous volunteering!

Here is a sample of volunteer activities in the Omaha metro that are infused with an extra dose of fun.



 
  1. Be a game demo-er at Spielbound
Spread the joy of your favorite board game by teaching others! Be a game demo-er at Spielbound while making new friends. You won’t be “Sorry!”. (Age 13+ or with adult supervision)

  1. Pack, sort and stock food with the Food Bank for the Heartland
                Help assemble food packs that fight hunger in the metro. Shifts are available Tuesday-Friday: 9-11:30am and 1-3pm, Tuesday evenings: 5-7pm and Saturday: 9a-11:30am. Packing races among competitive friends may occur! (Age 12-15 with adult supervision or Age 16+)

  1. Record reading materials for the visually impaired with Radio Talking Book Service
Read aloud for 30 minutes and your recording will share news and stories with over 8,000 locals who are visually impaired. Maybe you’ll get to try a fake accent? (Age 13+)

  1. Be a bike ride spotter for Autism Society of Nebraska
For 90 minutes a day from July 22-26, bike spotters are needed! At the iCan Bike Camp individuals with disabilities will learn to ride a bike. Share your best motivational cheers as you keep riders upright. (Age 15+)

  1. Assist with summer classes at The Rose
Make your summer a dramatic one while helping with Creative Drama, Acting and Musical Theater summer classes and production camps. To volunteer, or not to volunteer. Yes, is the answer! (Age 13+)
