SHARE Omaha welcomes new board members
SHARE Omaha is thrilled to announce and welcome 5 new leaders to SHARE Omaha's Board of Directors!
“We are honored to welcome these five community leaders to SHARE Omaha’s Board of Directors. Their leadership will position SHARE Omaha and the metro community to embrace community needs, year-round!” shares Teresa Mardesen, executive director of SHARE Omaha.
John Nania
Learning for ALL
As executive director of Learning for ALL, John Nania has participated in many SHARE Omaha events and trainings.
John's community service background includes serving as a board member for DIBS for Kids and Equal Learning Fund, as an advisor for SCORE Mentors Greater Omaha, and through his company, Nania Arts.
"Since moving to Omaha, SHARE Omaha has been an integral part of our experience in this community as an individual, and as a partner with several nonprofits we engage with. I have seen the power of SHARE Omaha in this community and know the benefit SHARE Omaha brings, having lived in several communities without a comparable organization," shares John.
Julie Dierberger
University of Nebraska at Omaha
As the Chief Engagement Officer and Paul Sather Distinguished Director of the Service Learning Academy at the University of Nebraska Omaha, Julie Dierberger provides strategic vision for campus community engagement, service learning support, implementation and partner development. Julie has used SHARE Omaha as a resident and directed folks from her professional work to the SHAREomaha.org website as a resource.
Julie's community service background includes Metropolitan Universities Journal Editorial board, Phi Kappa Phi Chapter 97 President, Society for Experiential Education Research and Scholarship Committee, SXSW EDU Advisory Board, International Association for Research in Service-Learning and Community Engagement, Aksarben/Elmwood Park Neighborhood Association, South Omaha Community Care Council Board Member and Main Street Fremont Board of Directors.
"I think the mission and way SHARE Omaha supports Omaha is important and meets a critical need. I get excited about collaborating with organizations like SHARE Omaha because they meet so many organizational needs across the community," shares Julie.
Kimberly Cappellano
Private Wealth Asset Management
Kimberly Cappellano is Founding Partner, CMO, Midwest Managing Partner for Private Wealth Asset Management. Kimberly leads marketing efforts, chairs the finance committee and coaches the next generation of advisors.
Kimberly's community service efforts include serving as a board member of Nebraska Family Planning and Methodist Hospital Foundation.
Kimberly's looking forward to serving on SHARE Omaha's board of directors and touts the value SHARE Omaha offers with "a more flexible strategy of giving back in the community."
Marcus Bell
Omaha Bridges Out of Poverty
Marcus Bell, executive director of Omaha Bridges Out of Poverty, manages the staff, financials, donors and runs the day to day operations of the organization. As the previous executive director of 100 Black Men of Omaha and his organization has participated in SHARE Omaha's Giving Tuesday as well as Do Good Days.
Marcu's community service background includes board service for Nebraska Alliance of Child Advocacy Centers, Omaha Police Foundation, Salvation Army Advisory, B&B Sports Academy and Launch Leadership.
"I believe that SHARE Omaha is a great organization that connects the community and nonprofits together," shares Marcus.
Quincy Christian
Cox Communications, Inc.
Quincy Christian, new SHARE Omaha board member, manages warehouses for the Central region of Cox including 7 locations in 4 states. His teams are responsible for distribution of materials and customer equipment (modems, cable boxes, etc.) as well as reverse logistics.
Quincy's community service background includes the Nelson Mandela exhibit advisory board for the Durham Museum , ambassadorship for the Black/African American ERG at Cox Communications and serving on the board of his church.
"Simply stated, I want to help. There are so many areas where the world needs people to step up and help and it starts in the local community. We start where we are and grow out from there and my goal is to make a global impact in the resources space. I've made a personal commitment to making the world a better place and lean heavily on my faith as my compass," shares Quincy.
