Hunger Action Month: Food Bank for the Heartland
This September, communities across America are committing to fight hunger during Hunger Action Month. Feeding America shares, with every action, we get one step closer to making hunger a thing of the past.
Food Bank for the Heartland distributes food through 544 Network Partners, including pantries, schools, churches, emergency shelters and other non-profit organizations to ensure consistent access to nutritious food in 93 counties across Nebraska and western Iowa. 1 in 11 people in Nebraska and western Iowa are considered food insecure — with 1 in 9 being children. The Food Bank is committed to breaking the vicious cycle of food insecurity.
