It's time to prepare for the year’s biggest day of philanthropy locally! Giving Tuesday, this year on November 28th, is the day to give back and support the greater Omaha metro community’s nonprofits.
What if every Omaha area family set aside a portion of their holiday gift spending to give generously in honor of their loved ones? Over 80% of local nonprofits said that they need fewer than 200 new gifts of $100 to help them meet their fundraising needs. Can you be one of the 200 for causes that matter to you?
We all know this is a hectic time of year!
Despite the busy-ness, it’s the perfect time for you to get involved with Giving Tuesday (this year on November 28, 2023), the year’s biggest day of philanthropy here locally in the Greater Omaha/Council Bluffs metro and across the globe.
Here at SHARE Omaha, alongside our partners at SHARE Iowa, we are celebrating the generosity of our region on Giving Tuesday. You raised over $4.2 million dollars for our local nonprofits! In addition, you gave to nonprofits that were new-to-you, more than 1,800 times. The nonprofits you supported also recruited over one hundred new volunteers and received over 27,000 wish list items.

I have had a blast working with SHARE Omaha as their Giving Tuesday Intern this past semester, learning valuable skills and working towards strengthening my community through positive work. This was my first Giving Tuesday, and I am glad that I was able to spend it highlighting the meaning of generosity and what it means to give back.
For the first time ever, a group of local Giving Tuesday Ambassadors are prepping to hit the streets on November 29th! These kind-hearted folks have spent the last few weeks asking themselves what they care about, what change they want to see, and what they can do to move the metro forward this Giving Tuesday. It’s been inspiring to hear about what led them to choose their projects!
It’s important to support nonprofits all year long, but we have the chance to come together and make a collective impact on November 29 for Giving Tuesday.
Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving. In this region, it’s the biggest giving day of the year and the most significant opportunity to raise support for more than 700 local nonprofits. In 2021 alone, our community generated $5.5 million for local organizations.
Giving Tuesday, our region’s largest annual giving celebration, is Nov. 29, 2022. To boost its impact, we are encourage you take your philanthropy from this screen to the streets!
Giving Tuesday is about more than just dollars, but about the combined impact our region can have when we all activate our generosity.
