Some call it stories. Others call it a blog. But here you will find nuggets of goodness to use and -- you guessed it -- SHARE!

June 11-18: A special Project Hope Pack Drive to give hope and dignity to kids

When children are removed from home due to abuse or neglect, they often leave with only the clothes on their back and whatever personal items can be hastily gathered up into a trash bag.

From June 11-18, 2021, during a special Project Hope Pack Drive, we have an opportunity to provide hope and dignity to Omaha metro children facing scary changes.

PBR Be Cowboy Award presented to SHARE Omaha

This past Saturday at the CHI Health Center in Omaha, SHARE Omaha and Marjorie Maas were honored to be presented with the PBR Be Cowboy Award!

As the Professional Bull Riding, Inc Be Cowboy Award says,
It's not the hat, the buckle, or the boots.
It's not what you ride or what you drive.
It's the values you embrace and the way you live your life.
Be Badder Be Bolder Be Braver
BE COWBOY

Thank you PBR for this honor!

Donor Spotlight: Abra, supporter of Black & Pink

This blog is guest written by Abra, a supporter of Black & Pink.

Omaha has long needed affirmative, healing, anti-racist and intersectional housing, wrap around support, mental health, and community programs for LGBTQIA2S+ youth and young adults who are disproportionately impacted by racism, houselessness, violence, suicide rates, and carceral systems that only serve to increase trauma experiences.

This blog is guest written by Ana Bellinghausen, Sports Marketing Intern at Omaha Sports Commission

Jan Churchill and Connie Mangano’s connection began back at Norris Middle School more than 30 years ago as teachers and coaches.

“I remember walking into the school with Jan the first day and just knowing that she was someone I was going to walk out of this school with on my last,” Mangano said.

SHARE Omaha Spurs New Philanthropic Ideas

Omaha, Neb – The first Do Good Week, April 19 – April 24, 2021, is a new way of giving and giving back introduced by SHARE Omaha. The week-long event coincides with National Volunteer Week and amplifies the mission of SHARE Omaha. Do Good Week, presented by FNBO, is different because it focuses on three major ways for the community to meet the needs of nonprofit organizations through building their volunteer base, fulfilling wish lists of goods needed, and financially supporting their work.

Guest blog: Mental health affects everyone

This blog is guest-written by Meka Tate, Mental Health Campaign Coordinator at The Wellbeing Partners.

Mental health affects everyone: One in two of us have a mental health condition in our lifetime, and even if you have not experienced one yourself, you likely have a loved one who has1. Mental health is a human experience, but negative attitudes and beliefs toward people with a mental health condition are common.
