Stories
Some call it stories. Others call it a blog. But here you will find nuggets of goodness to use and -- you guessed it -- SHARE!
Shop for Good: QLI
QLI helps survivors of devastating brain and spinal cord injuries get back to life. The population QLI serves, primarily individuals between the ages of 16 and 65, is as diverse as its diagnoses are complex. QLI devotes tremendous resources to providing treatment beyond the client to the entire family unit - resources that include on-campus housing, 24/7 access to counseling and education services, and transition planning to foster both a successful return home and positive long-term outcomes.
Epilepsy Awareness Month: Epilepsy Foundation Nebraska
November is epilepsy awareness month. Did you know epilepsy is one of the most common neurological disorders and affects people of all ages?
Epilepsy Foundation Nebraska is leading the fight to overcome the challenges of living with epilepsy and to accelerate therapies to stop seizures, find cures, and save lives. They provide services across the state of Nebraska to educate, empower, and advocate on issues related to epilepsy and improving the lives of those living with seizures.
Guest Blog: Leo’s legacy inspires a journal library
This blog is guest written by Haley Haas, Anastasis Theatre artistic director
I want to tell you a beautiful story about how a simple item, journals, is being used to pay tribute to one of our community members who passed away in 2021.
His name was Leo Marks.
Military Family Appreciation Month: Wounded Warriors Family Support
November was first declared as Military Family Month in 1996. Since then, November has been a time to acknowledge the tremendous sacrifices our military families make. They contend with separation from their families and make adjustments to new living situations and communities.
Make it a choose day, share day and enthuse day this Giving Tuesday
We all know this is a hectic time of year!
Despite the busy-ness, it’s the perfect time for you to get involved with Giving Tuesday (this year on November 28, 2023), the year’s biggest day of philanthropy here locally in the Greater Omaha/Council Bluffs metro and across the globe.
Shop for Good: Town and Country
Town and Country Animal Rescue believes in giving every animal a chance. TCHS is a nonprofit, "no time limit" shelter serving eastern Nebraska and beyond. They rescue dogs and cats from high kill shelters and bring them to Omaha for placement in loving, forever homes.
State of local fundraising and what your dollars can do
On October 23, 2023, we asked SHARE Omaha nonprofit members two questions: How does your fundraising compare to this time in 2022 and how many new $100 donors do you need?
Thanks to the 149 respondents, this is what we learned:
Volunteer Voices: Terri, Ronald McDonald House Volunteer
Ronald McDonald House Charities in Omaha (RMHC) provides a safe and caring home-away-from-home for families of children receiving treatment in Omaha-area medical facilities. Families are stronger when together, and this is never more important than when a child is sick or injured.
RMHC serves an average of 165 families per year and on a nightly basis, almost 40 guests eat dinner in their Home.
Shop for Good: MYLPA
Metro Young Latino Professionals (MYLPA) amplifies the power of Latinos through civic and professional engagement.
MYPLA invites you to join them in supporting young and first-time college students by shopping their wish list and sending items for students.

Volunteer Voices: Jennifer, CQuence Health volunteer for Ronald McDonald House
Earlier this month, we heard from CQuence Health CEO Mike Cassling about their investment in community impact. One of the ways the company invests is by offering volunteer time off (VTO) as a key benefit for CQuence Health employees.
We wanted to hear more. How is this VTO benefit being used by CQuence Health employees?
