Some call it stories. Others call it a blog. But here you will find nuggets of goodness to use and -- you guessed it -- SHARE!

#GivingTuesday402 stays strong, thanks to you!

Though there have been changes in giving patterns this year, Giving Tuesday stays strong for local giving!

Early giving through SHAREomaha.org was up, over 10,000 people explored the website on Giving Tuesday and almost one in four gifts were from new donors. Reports of direct-to-nonprofit giving are still coming in and we are thrilled to share that the greater Omaha metro, including Western Iowa givers using SHAREiowa.org, raised over $4.3 million for vital local nonprofits to continue their important work.

Every gift matters this Giving Tuesday

The countdown is on for #GivingTuesday402 (Nov 28)! Which local nonprofits will you support?

Guest Blog: Asha's House

This blog is guest written by Miriam Smith.

Meet Asha. You've probably seen her around. By this time, you are saying to yourself, I'm sure I have never seen Asha. But you have.

Asha represents the thousands of individuals with disabilities that reside in the Nebraska area. Through no fault of their own, they require the assistance and care from others. Here's Asha's story.

Volunteer Voices: Dr. Naim, Nebraska Afghan Community Center

The Nebraska Afghan Community Center (NACC) works to build a unified, educated, and self-sufficient Afghan community in Nebraska.  NACC was founded by a group of former military combat interpreters after the fall of the Afghan government in August 2021.  They provide a variety of basic social services and recreation opportunities to the community.

The power of your dollar: Give generously for Giving Tuesday

What if we all set aside a portion of our holiday gift spending this year to give gifts back to our community?

What do you care about? What change do you want to see in the greater Omaha metro? Plan your giving for #GivingTuesday402 now!

Your dollar is powerful. Here are just a few ways your donations can make a difference:

Volunteer Voices: Martha, Omaha Girls Rock volunteer

"For me, volunteering has given me a chance to be a part of something bigger than myself. I feel supported and I can also support other people. It's really important during these times of division and separation, that we find these communities, within the bigger Omaha community, that we find those people that support us and make us feel a part of something," shared Martha, Omaha Girls Rock volunteer.

The Mighty Dollar: Put Your Cash to Work for Giving Tuesday

It's time to prepare for the year’s biggest day of philanthropy locally! Giving Tuesday, this year on November 28th, is the day to give back and support the greater Omaha metro community’s nonprofits.

What if every Omaha area family set aside a portion of their holiday gift spending to give generously in honor of their loved ones?  Over 80% of local nonprofits said that they need fewer than 200 new gifts of $100 to help them meet their fundraising needs. Can you be one of the 200 for causes that matter to you?

Shop for Good: QLI

QLI helps survivors of devastating brain and spinal cord injuries get back to life. The population QLI serves, primarily individuals between the ages of 16 and 65, is as diverse as its diagnoses are complex. QLI devotes tremendous resources to providing treatment beyond the client to the entire family unit - resources that include on-campus housing, 24/7 access to counseling and education services, and transition planning to foster both a successful return home and positive long-term outcomes.

Epilepsy Awareness Month: Epilepsy Foundation Nebraska

November is epilepsy awareness month. Did you know epilepsy is one of the most common neurological disorders and affects people of all ages?

Epilepsy Foundation Nebraska is leading the fight to overcome the challenges of living with epilepsy and to accelerate therapies to stop seizures, find cures, and save lives.  They provide services across the state of Nebraska to educate, empower, and advocate on issues related to epilepsy and improving the lives of those living with seizures.
