Volunteer WordPress Website Designer (Yeah, we know this will be a hard volunteer opportunity to fill😆)

We are seeking a skilled and creative Volunteer WordPress Website Designer. As a volunteer, you will help lead the designing and maintaining our website using WordPress, ensuring an aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly online presence. Your role will play a crucial part in enhancing our organization's online visibility and attracting more visitors.

We are looking to switch from our current website design program to WordPress to help with future growth and better website use. We have ZERO of the WordPress site started, it's a clean slate at the moment.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with our board president to understand website requirements and design objectives.
2. Design and develop WordPress website that aligns with our organization's goals and brand identity.
3. Create visually appealing layouts, graphics, and user interfaces using WordPress themes and plugins.
4. Customize WordPress themes and templates to meet specific project needs.
5. Optimize websites for speed, performance, and search engine optimization (SEO) best practices.
6. Ensure website compatibility across different browsers and devices for seamless user experience.

Skills and Experience that may be helpful:

1. Proficient knowledge of WordPress, including theme customization, plugin installation, and content management.
2. Solid understanding of web design principles, user experience (UX) best practices, and responsive design.
3. Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for website customization and optimization.
4. Familiarity with graphic design tools such as Adobe Photoshop or Sketch for creating website graphics.
   1. We can have someone else create graphics as needed.
5. Knowledge of SEO techniques to optimize website content for search engines.
6. Self-motivated and able to work independently.
