Provide help to seniors applying for Homestead Exemption, a property tax relief program for seniors who have lower income, those who have mobility disabilities, and 100% disabled veterans. Homestead Exemption applications are due between February 2nd and June 30th each year. Volunteers are trained by the Douglas County Assessor office to aid in the application process.
Must submit application to volunteer by the end of February in order to attend training in March--all applicants must be able to pass a background check.
- Application assistance will start mid-March and will run through the end of June, with flexible scheduling available for volunteers.
- Bilingual skills a plus, but not required.
- Must be good with numbers and have attention to detail
