Are you ready to make an immediate impact on families and individuals facing hunger? As a Food Bank for the Heartland Volunteer, you can improve the health of our communities across Nebraska and western Iowa. A brief training session will be held at the start of your volunteer shift. You’ll then have the opportunity to pack and/or sort donated food which is distributed to more than 550 partners: including pantries, schools, emergency shelters, and other nonprofit organizations.

All volunteers must wear close-toed shoes. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old (ages 10-15 may volunteer with adult supervision.) We do not accept court-ordered community service or individuals in the diversion program.  Group sizes range from 3 to 30 people.

Thank you for taking a stand in the fight against hunger. Volunteers are the lifeline of our mission!
