Omaha Film Festival

The primary responsibilities of the VIP Room Manager is to create a warm, welcoming, and comfortable respite for our Filmmakers and Screenwriters.

Must be fun, welcoming, and positive, must be a team player and able to multitask with an attention to detail, must be able to attend the Omaha Film Festival training events and the Omaha Film Festival.

Hours required:

Attend monthly Leadership Team meetings prior to the festival. 

Responsibilities include:

Prior to the festival

Work with other department managers to make sure all of their required items will be available for the VIP room 

Festival Setup Day

Assist in setup of the VIP Room - reference setup map for layout

Work with the Roadie Team to help build out the room 

Remove any existing tables and chairs and other extraneous theatre items

Bring in comfortable seating, tables, table clothes, lighting, etc.

Work with theatre staff to reduce the general lighting (remove several of the overhead light bulbs

Create an inventory of snacks and drinks from the items at the volunteer booth and organize them in a pleasing manner

Have a coffee pot, coffee, and accouterments 

Have a phone recharging station and outlets for laptops available for filmmakers/screenwriters

During the festival

Always have a pot of coffee brewed during festival hours

Keep the snacks filled and organized in a pleasing way each day including some fresh fruit items

A cooler might be required for cold drinks - make sure it’s always filled with drinks and fresh ice

Maintain a level of organization and cleanliness in the VIP Room, helping pick up trash, keeping tables clear, throwing away empty boxes and containers on the snack table, etc.

After the Festival is over

Return all of your food and drink items to the volunteer booth (Volunteer Room Manager will be your point person) to be packed 

Clean and pack up the coffee maker (Volunteer Room Manager will be your point person)

Return any items (chargers, extension cords, etc.) to the volunteer booth to be packed (Kari will be your point person for these)
