What We Do
Since 2005 the Omaha Film Festival has been passionate about exhibiting independent films from local, national, and international filmmakers. Through our six-day festival located at Aksarben Cinema the community is able to experience the artistry of independent films that would not otherwise be showcased in this area. In addition, the Omaha Film Festival hosts a two-day filmmaking workshop for high school students. Over the past nine years the OFF Academy has worked with over 800 students from dozens of area high schools along with many parents, educators, and visiting film professionals.
Interesting Info
- The Festival showcases over 90 films during its annual event, selected from an average of around 1000 annual entries.
- Voted by MovieMaker magazine as one of the “Top 50 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee".
- Narrative features, documentaries, short films, and animated shorts are screened during the week-long Festival.
