Cake4Kids

If you enjoy baking at home and giving your goods away, Cake4Kids wants you! We utilize volunteers to provide free custom cakes and other special treats to area youth that otherwise may not have something to celebrate their special day. Volunteer bakers sign up for a request, bake the cake at home, and deliver it to one of our partner agencies who support the youth. We have no minimum commitment — volunteers choose how often and which cakes they want to bake. All volunteers are required to be 16 or older. Teens aged 16 and 17 must volunteer as part of a parent-teen team with a parent or guardian. Anyone 18 years of age or older may volunteer on their own.

You must:

• Be a good baker with reasonable decorating skills -- but you don’t need to be a professional by any means!
• Follow the CDC, FDA, and USDA’s food safety guidance from FoodSafety.org: 4 Steps to Food Safety
• Be able to bake and deliver the cake to one of our partner agencies during regular business hours, Monday through Friday
• Attend a one-time new volunteer orientation session and pass a short orientation quiz.
