Animal Welfare Volunteers provide the most crucial services to the animals at NHS including the care, feeding and watering ensuring we meet the most basic of needs. The volunteer’s role in helping clean kennels will allow for more intense cleaning which helps cut down on disease outbreaks. General Duties: 1. Perform daily sanitation of dog adopt kennels according to the Nebraska Humane Society’s Standard Operating Procedures 2. General cleaning including, but not limited to kennels, laundry, and dishes 3. Provide superior care for all animals, with a focus on basic necessities such as food, water, and living conditions 4. Humane and safe animal handling according the Nebraska Humane Society’s Standard Operating Procedures 5. Maintain a regular volunteer schedule and attend each assigned shift. Inform staff when you are unavailable for your shift in a timely manner 6. Interact with other volunteers, staff and visitors in a professional and courteous manner This is a very active volunteer experience and you will be on your feet for most of your two hours shift.
