What We Do
Voices of Omaha (VOO) is a volunteer chorus with the mission of providing an annual presentation of Handel’s Messiah, without charge, as a gift to the community. The first performance was in December 1969, with 501©3 incorporation following in 1971. The expenses for each annual performance are covered through chorus member dues, fundraising activities, grants, donations and a free-will offering. As VOO enters its next 50 years of performances, we have begun to look at ways to increase our outreach and promote diversity within our organization. We will also continue to encourage youth participation by eliminating all their member expenses, and by waiving membership fees for active and retired military members.
