What We Do

Welcome to the virtual world, where everything we post, tweet, snap, follow and comment on can (and will be) scrutinized within minutes and for years to come. Now, more than ever, it's time for our communities to get smart about technology and social media.

Founded by Amie Konwinski, mother of five daughters, U.S. Navy veteran, and computer engineer, SGS works to protect today's digitally dependent society. We want to encourage meaningful conversations about digital media trends by promoting taking action towards safety and privacy online.

Our Goal:
We aim to reduce digital-based anxiety, prevent peer and predator exploitation, and ensure our communities remain safe.

We do this by:
1. Igniting critical thinking skills and inspiring today’s youth to be safe, private, and authentic on their digital devices.
2. Providing support, education, and information to encourage caregivers to be actively engaged in their children’s online activities.
3. Collaborating with public and private schools, community-based organizations, and local businesses. We provide today's leaders with the tools and resources necessary to manage our future generations in a constantly changing digital environment.

Interesting Info

Throughout our educational programming, we served 25,000 students, parents and educators in 2018-19 school.
10.3 years old is the average age a child receives a smart phone.
SGS programs are conducted in collaboration with the UNMC Munroe Meyer Institute to bring research-backed, preventative measures into our communities.
