Driven by our core values of safety, affordability, community, and self-determination, Sheltering Tree is dedicated to building and operating apartment communities tailored for adults with developmental disabilities (DD). Our primary focus is on maximizing independence and fostering a sense of belonging among our tenants.
The Sheltering Tree Activities and Enrichment program plays a pivotal role in promoting our fundamental value of community. Its mission is to offer adults with DD opportunities to establish meaningful connections, engage in enriching experiences, and be included in the broader community.
This program is indispensable for advancing independence, providing enriching experiences, and nurturing significant connections for individuals with DD. Through our consumer-controlled housing model, tenants have the autonomy to pursue their interests in various areas such as arts, culture, humanities, entertainment, or sports. Sheltering Tree ensures access to a wide array of activities aimed at enriching lives and promoting personal growth and fulfillment.
