What We Do

Your gift, any day, to Saving Grace Perishable Food Rescue is helping nourish people and nurture the planet.

We rescue excess perishable food from local businesses and deliver it to more than 45 area nonprofit agencies who serve people experiencing food insecurity. With more than one-third of food produced being wasted while so many people are hungry, our outreach and education efforts to reduce wasted food are more important than ever. Produce, proteins and dairy are the foods that get wasted the most. These are the nutritious choices people experiencing food insecurity truly need. Using refrigerated trucks, Saving Grace’s professional drivers/food ambassadors pick up healthy, perishable foods from a network of food donors. This food is delivered the same day - free of charge - to Saving Grace’s nonprofit partner agencies, including food pantries, shelters, after-school programs, senior centers and more. Keeping perfectly good food out of our landfills is good for our planet. Wasting food also wastes the resources used to grow, harvest, transport, prepare and serve food, while food in the landfill causes harmful greenhouse gas emissions. We know food is too good to waste!
