What We Do
Saving Grace Perishable Food Rescue rescues excess perishable food and delivers it to area nonprofit agencies to feed their clients. In this way, Saving Grace is the local leader in the "no waste" food movement, educating the public about food waste and hunger.
Using refrigerated trucks, Saving Grace’s professional drivers/food handlers pick up produce, meats, dairy products, packaged and prepared meals, and other healthy foods from a network of regularly scheduled and on-call food donors. This food is delivered the same day - free of charge - to Saving Grace’s nonprofit partner agencies, including food pantries, shelters, transitional living facilities, after-school programs, senior centers and a clinic. Food is matched to the agencies' needs, enabling them to provide wholesome meals to their clients and direct more of their resources to other core programs. These partner agencies receive the food as fresh as Saving Grace does, as food is not warehoused.
