Benson Area Refugee Taskforce (BART) is now REFUGEE WOMEN RISING (RWR).
After listening sessions with communities throughout Omaha, the need for space & services for refugee women became explicit. Our intimate, community-curated programming includes driver's education, HomeDish dinners & culturally-intelligent self-care workshops.
Our Mission:
Through compassionate, culturally-sensitive programming and relationships, we collaborate with refugee women to further themselves personally and professionally.

We pledge to include women's voices in each initiative we undertake.
Refugees must repay the cost of their plane ticket (known as a travel loan) beginning 6 months after their arrival to the U.S. Average cost is $1200/ticket.
A driver's license provides limitless opportunity. RWR's driving classes are by & for refugee women.
