What We Do

ReConnect, Inc. is all about empowering, inspiring, and transforming the lives of our adult and youth clients to improve their reentry and life outcomes in order to reach their full potential. Our programs include ReConnect2Success, our adult reentry and life skills program for incarcerated and formerly incarcerated adults; Triage Success, our youth intervention program; Family Matters, our family centered support services; and Second Responders, our 24/7 helpline for parents to connect them with resources to help address defiant behaviors of their child. In 2020, ReConnect expanded its mission to uplift the lives of our clients and families by also focusing on uplifting underserved communities in which our clients live. We have engaged in numerous projects designed to provide culturally enriching and educational resources. One such effort has been opening Mama's Attic, an African American Cultural Arts, History and Humanities Center located at 1941 So 42nd St., Suite 108. Unlike a museum, our exhibits, which we change out every two months, are curated to tell a complete story on a particular aspect of the culture and Humanities of African Americans rather than focusing on an object or specific event. We chose the center of Omaha as a way to encourage learning and interactions among all of Omaha. We continuously raise funds to continue to support our clients in their reentry journey through mental health support, family reunification therapy, weekly job readiness workshops, limited financial and housing assistance, personal development literature, and so much more. Helpful donations we always accept to help our clients include laundry detergent, dishwashing detergent, bottled water, T-shirts (all sizes), men's undergarments (all sizes), paper plates, napkins, paper towels, metro area transit bus tickets, and grocery store gift cards.
