Project Reset
Project Reset mentors' justice-involved individuals into a life changing career in the skilled labor and trades.
Project Reset was created from the awareness of two growing concerns in the State of Nebraska. The first is the current workforce shortage in our skilled labor and trades industry, and the second the impact of the lack of career path and the inability to make a living wage on the recidivism rate of an individual involved in our overwhelmed criminal justice system. Project Reset mentors' justice-involved individuals into a career in the skilled labor and trade industry. It focuses on building core foundations, identifying and addressing risks, developing soft skills, building a work history, exposure to the trade industry, and employment through apprenticeships and others. Project Reset aims to empower participants to learn skills that lead to sustainable wages, healthcare, and retirement benefits and promote community safety by reducing recidivism. Strong partnerships with local unions, employers, and federally registered apprenticeships provide entry into paid skilled labor jobs with benefits. Project Reset prioritizes pre-apprenticeship programs that provide paid training that leads directly into a Federally Registered Apprenticeship program.
- Project Reset values participant feedback and has collected data that demonstrates 100% of participants surveyed would refer a friend to the program.
- In 2023 the average monthly trade-based retention rate is 94%!
- A 100% of participants surveyed indicated their skills have increased due to participating in the program.
