As the City of Omaha has grown, so has the continued need for parks, trails, playgrounds, and recreation programs. Recognizing that the parks system is vital to improving the lives of ALL Omaha residents, enhancing economic development, and encouraging healthy lifestyles, the Omaha Parks Foundation (OPF) was created in 2010.
As a 501c3 charitable organization, the OPF enlists the help of individuals, corporate donors, and other charitable organizations in our efforts to enhance, preserve, and expand our city’s parks, programs (think summer camps, sports), trails, and community centers.
We celebrate parks and their potential to make our community healthier, more connected, and Omaha a great place to live. We invite you to join us!
More information and ways to support the Omaha Parks Foundation can be found on our website www.omahaparksfoundation.org.
- Omaha has 256 parks that cover nearly 11,000 acres of parkland, providing many opportunities to be active.
- City parks and open space improve our physical and psychological health, strengthen our communities, & make our cities and neighborhoods a more attractive place
- In a time of high demand for government resources, the Omaha Parks Foundation is an independent 501(c)3 fulfilling the need for a public-private collaboration.
