What We Do

MAYS (Metro Area Youth Services) Foundation exists to support and develop youth in our community, despite their challenging backgrounds. Our mission is to identify strengths and weaknesses of youth with challenging backgrounds and provide programming that uncovers hidden skills and talents, while forming ongoing community partnerships enabling us to provide additional services to support youth and their families. We help our youth find a passion, a vision, ways to overcome adversity, become teachable, and learn to give back!

Youth can come to us during the school day if they are suspended or expelled and we will work with them on academics as well as social and behavioral skills that will help them as they return to the classroom.  For youth who need some extra structure or engagement after school, we also have after school programming that focuses on enrichment and development.   In addition, we provide nutritious meals, transportation, haircuts, and more.

Interesting Info
  • Each summer, MAYS takes 10-20 gang affiliated young men on an outdoor adventure and development trip to Colorado where they camp, whitewater raft, and more!
  • Our CEO provides free haircuts to program involved youth.
  • Our leadership team (Rodney, Patrick, and Tiffany) has been working together to serve the North Omaha community for almost 15 years.
