What We Do

The Malcolm X Memorial Foundation is focused on preserving the human rights legacy of Malcolm X (El Hajj Malik El Shabazz) while prioritizing self-reliance and determination through radical movement building. We do this in a number of ways to include the following:

  • Preserving and developing the grounds/historical marker;
  • Educate visitors about Malcolm X's Legacy;
  • Activate leadership through civic engagement trainings and lectures;
  • Celebrate Black Heritage through collaborative community programming; and
  • Empower others thru Equity and advocacy for quality of life issues.
Interesting Info
  • Recently collaborated with local citizens to campaign the induction of Malcolm X into the Nebraska Hall of Fame.
  • Distribute free copies of The Autobiography of Malcolm X to the public during tours, events, and community outreach.
  • Annually host a birthday celebration to honor the legacy of Malcolm X on May 19 with performances, visual art, education and experiences for the entire family!
