What We Do

The Latino Center of the Midlands is an education and social service nonprofit located in South Omaha, the heart of Omaha’s Latino community. Our mission is to cultivate generations of engaged, thriving Latinos through educational support, workforce development, and leadership opportunities. We reach more than 3,600 individuals and families each year through mentoring, English and GED classes, U.S. citizenship education, nutrition education for all ages, a unique home-gardening program, the city's largest youth internship program, preventive health screenings, get-out-the-vote efforts, and civic education and engagement.

Interesting Info
  • We partnered with more than 30 employers to create 60 youth internships in 2024.
  • Pathways to Success helps close the graduation gap for Latino youth with 77% of participating high school seniors graduating on time.
  • Healthy Communities has empowered 1,291 clients and their families to live healthier lives.
