Ignation Volunteer Corps of Omaha is a lay organization for men and women, most of the age of 50 or better, who have answered the call to serve in their communities to promote justice and journey with the poor and vulnerable of our society. We do this by partnering with local nonprofit organizations who are addressing issues of poverty. IVC Service Corps Members offer a significant amount of time to these organizations and lend their expertise in a variety of areas. After careers in business, finance, law, medicine, education, government, and more, they become consistent and loyal members of a partner nonprofit where their skills and experience can make an outsized contribution. IVC Omaha Service Corps Members serve at least 8-10 hours each week as tutors, instructors, housing advocates, administrative support, marketing advisors, and more at their nonprofit sites. IVC Service Corps Members reach hundreds of people working with Omaha agencies like Habitat for Humanity, the Stephen Center, Nebraska Children’s Home Society and Essential Pregnancy Services. They are also in schools such as Nelson Mandela, CUES, and Saints Peter and Paul. IVC Service Corps Members serve at these schools and nonprofits to help make sure the needs of our community are met.
