What We Do
"The House" connects people to build a community based on a shared love of science fiction, fantasy, gaming, table-top gaming, and Afrofuturism while providing a safe space to explore geek culture. Through game nights, community events, our community blog, and podcast, we share a safe space to explore our favorite hobbies, nerd/geek culture, and bring the community together, without ethnic boundaries.
Interesting Info
- Our programs generate a sense of belonging where the community as a whole can discuss pertinent issues using nerd culture as a catalyst for conversation.
- The House Community School and Young History Detectives provide structured conversations that delve into the histories that stay in the margins.
- The House was featured in a segment on Good Morning America Third Hour in March 2023!
