What We Do
Homeward Bound in the Heartland Animal Rescue, Inc. (HBITH) helps seniors and low-income residents keep their pets at home and out of the shelter system through our "Safe at Home" program. This program offers people spay/neuter surgeries, food, supplies, transportation when needed to vet visits, and basic veterinary care.
We rescue homeless/abused/neglected/abandoned animals from high stressed situations. as well as those animals that are in danger of being euthanized at a shelter. Health, age or breed does not matter to us. Our rescued animals are examined, vaccinated and spayed/neutered before they are placed in carefully screened homes.
Interesting Info
HBITH has supported over 100 animals a year through our trap and release program, adoptions, and "Safe at Home" program.
Currently 43 families are enlisted in our "Safe at Home" program.
Our goal is no more unwanted litters.
