What We Do

Heart Ministry Center provides food, healthcare and a way forward for people severely affected by poverty in the Omaha area.

Set up like a grocery store, our Choice Food Distribution Program allows individuals and families to select from a variety of fresh produce, frozen meat, dairy and bakery items and shelf-stable products. Last year we distributed more than 5.1 million pounds of food to nearly 120,000 individuals.

Our beautiful Monen Healthcare Clinic offers free medical, dental, vision, and mental health care for families in need. We partner with practitioners from Creighton University and elsewhere to provide compassionate, comprehensive care.

Empowering participants to make lasting changes in their lives, our Fresh Start Job Placement Program is a 15-20 week program of intensive job training and personal development. The Center provides employment placement assistance for graduates of the program.

Our Willing Partners Program offers a variety of resources including debt management, legal assistance, parenting classes, tax preparation, budgeting, and others. Navigators meet with community members to develop a long-term plan for self-sufficiency.

Fresh Start Laundromat Open 7 days a week, our Fresh Start Laundromat offers free and reduced-price laundry services for community members. It also provides job training an employment for Fresh Start graduates.
