What We Do

The Gretna Public Schools Foundation's mission is to nurture the whole child with educational excellence by honoring each teacher’s unique gifts for the fulfillment of the students’ individual aspirations.

The Foundation is growing, and that means our programs and services are as well. Our goal is to support all district students and staff. Our focus over the next three years (and beyond) is mental and behavioral Health. Our programs include:

The Foundation is committed to supporting educational opportunities that inspire learning, enrich teaching, and maximize innovative opportunities for all students and educators within the Gretna Public Schools district.

Interesting Info

In 2024, we awarded Classroom Grants to 33 teachers totaling over $64,000 allowing them to provide unique educational opportunities for their students.
In 2024, we presented Educational Excellence Awards to 15 GPS staff. Each winner received both a physical award and a monetary award.
In 2024, we awarded over $100,000 in scholarships during Honors Night. We presented 65 local scholarships to over 100 graduating seniors.
