What We Do

The Great Plains Black History Museum is the only museum in Nebraska whose sole focus is on the rich history of African Americans. The mission of GPBHM is to preserve, celebrate and educate all people on the contributions and achievements of African Americans throughout the great plains of America. We realize that the work of the GPBHM continues because of faithful supporters like you.

We are the only museum in the state of Nebraska whose sole focus is the rich history of African Americans.
The GPBHM has increased its membership by 100% in 2018.
Our goal is to become a tourist destination for visitors to the North Omaha Arts & Entertainment District.
