What We Do

Girls on the Run of Nebraska provides after-school programs that combine education with physical activity to promote confidence, character and healthy lifestyles in third- through eighth-grade girls. We use nationally standardized and evidence-based curricula to build life skills and promote physical activity and goal-setting in young girls. GOTR-Nebraska is one of 180+ GOTR councils across the country that collectively serve 200,000 girls annually. Since its inception with 11 girls in Lincoln in 2003, GOTR-Nebraska has expanded to serve more than 24,000 girls at schools spanning 500 miles across the state. GOTR teams meet twice weekly for 10 weeks to complete the curriculum and train for a 5K run/walk at the end of the season. The event is an uplifting and unforgettable experience for girls, their families and coaches.

Interesting Info
