What We Do

The Friends of the Bellevue Public Library fulfill special needs of the library that are not funded by the city. We connect the community with the library by providing funds through our fundraising efforts, advocacy and volunteers as well as sponsoring community programs.

2020 was a unique year for everyone and presented the Friends with never-before-experienced challenges. However, we were still able to accomplish many great things in aid of the library! We look forward to continuing and growing our mission in 2021!

Our goals for 2021 include:
Double our membership and fundraising;
Sponsor a program or guest speaker every month;
Continue to work with adult library programs and expand our involvement with the children and young adult programs;
Have a dedicated space in the library to inform patrons of our programs and activities;
Work with organizations in the community to promote the library and its programs

Interesting Info

One of our goals is to provide an electronic outdoor billboard for the library.
A billboard would engage the public and inform them about library programs and events.
Our programs include: Books for Babies; Home Bound Member Services; Community Programs; Book Buzz; Library Week; and Coffee Corner.
