Dundee Community Garden
Dundee Community Garden provides neighborhood gardening space enabling people to grow their own fresh produce, herbs, and flowers. We donate fresh produce to low-income neighbors weekly during the harvest season, and also provide areas where neighbors can pick their own produce. Our "Produce Donation Box" is in a visible, accessible location where anyone walking by in the neighborhood can help themselves to fresh produce, donated by garden members or neighborhood home gardeners. We provide community-building events and free educational workshops. We are committed to creating pollinator habitat by planting native pollinator plants to provide continuous bloom from spring through summer into fall, and are a Certified Nebraska Pollinator Habitat.
- Since our founding in 2009, we have donated over 9,000 pounds of produce to underserved populations.
- Our produce donation box, and pick-you-own produce areas, are visited daily by our neighbors.
- We provide opportunities for building community with neighborhood events (ice cream social etc.) and free workshops such as monarch tagging.
