What We Do
We provide funds and in-kind services to enhance the quality of life for Douglas County Health Center's long-term care residents and employees since 1994. Our facility provides these services to 254 residents and specializes in memory care, skilled rehabilitation, and hospice services. One generous donation from Dr. Thomas McGruder to provide nursing scholarships to DCHC employees was our first mission. The rest is history! (Check it out on our website)
What Have We Been Up To?
-The moment a resident arrives at DCHC they are greeted with a welcome basket
-The daily newspapers to enjoy in their comfortable recliners
-Memory care solariums equipped with digital aquariums
-Newly renovated whirlpool spas with towels warmers, robes, and slippers
-At end of life, families and residents are provided with a Comfort Cart and an annual memorial service
-Updated beauty salon, well-equipped exercise rooms, handicapped bathrooms, and family available washer and dryer
-Courtyard fountains, outdoor furniture, and special holiday lighting
-The rebranding and marketing campaign of DCHC and the Foundation by a local marketing firm
