What We Do

No one should have to grieve alone.

Our agency provides inclusive, and compassionate free grief support programs, community events, and education and training to help individuals and families navigate the challenges of loss. We collaborate with schools and other non-profits to offer a variety of services, including:

  • Peer Support Groups: Both cohort-based and open groups, serving age 3 to 103.
  • Camps and Retreats: Day camps and overnight programs designed for healing and connection.
  • Educational Workshops and Training: Tailored sessions for individuals, schools, and community organizations.
  • Community Response: Support during times of collective grief or sudden losses.
  • Anticipatory Grief Support: Cohort-based support group for adults with a terminally-ill child, parent, or partner.

Evidence shows that unaddressed/unsupported grief can lead to profound challenges such as depression, anxiety, social isolation, behavioral issues, substance abuse, incarceration, and even suicide. By providing these free, accessible resources, we aim to reduce these risks and foster resilience and hope in grieving individuals and families.

Interesting Info
  • Grief is a prevalent and critical public health issue that can have a profound impact on future wellbeing but has long been overlooked.
  • $0: Cost for participants to access support programs provided by The Collective for Hope.
  • In Nebraska and Iowa: 1 in 15 kids will experience the loss of a parent or sibling by age 18.
