We just celebrated our 40th anniversary last season!
We are excited to see where the next forty years take us!
We engage individuals of all abilities in creative opportunities on and off stage. Our vision is to demonstrate to our greater community the value of including individuals of all abilities and all ages in the theater and arts community, providing a sense of accomplishment and self-esteem to all participants.
Each year, we produce two mainstage productions. We encourage individuals of all ages (8+ to 108+) and abilities to attend our community auditions, which are held at Hanscom Park United Methodist Church at 4444 Frances Street in Omaha, NE. We also do most of our rehearsals there.
Our professional teaching artists provide exciting workshops and internship opportunities at a number of community partner locations across the metropolitan area, in which we immerse participants in lively and creative all-abilities theater arts experiences. These workshops can include playwriting, acting, dancing and choreography, singing, costume, prop and set design, direction, stage management, and more. Participants from our workshops are invited to show off their skills in our community MainStage Season productions which take place every year in the spring and fall.
Our technical rehearsals and mainstage performances take place at The Alan J. Levine Performing Arts Center at the Omaha Jewish Community Center.
We partner with several local community organizations including Munroe Meyer Institute, VODEC, Quality Living, Inc (QLI), Wonderfully Made, Gotta Be Me, Ollie Webb Center, the Institute for Holocaust Education, the Jewish Federation of Omaha, and a number of metro-area public school Alternative Classroom Placement programs and Transition Programs including Omaha Public Schools, Papillion-La Vista Schools, and Millard Public Schools.
Our most recent production was "The Wizard of Oz: Youth Edition," featuring our all-abilities mainstage cast along with ensembles from our community partners Gotta Be Me, the UNMC Munroe Meyer Institute, VODEC, and QLI Inc. A number of local school districts also articipated with us in this magical experience. We also held weekend costume and prop making workshops, thanks to The Creative Forces Community Engagement Grant, a program of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) in partnership with Mid-America Arts Alliance (M-AAA) in order to involve military connected individuals in our endeavor.
- We believe people of all abilities deserve access to high quality theatre arts programming.
- Our most recent production was "The Wizard of Oz: Youth Edition" on April 5th and 6th in 2025.
- We are currently planning our Circle Con fundraiser, which will take place this summer. (It was postponed due to winter weather in February.)
