What We Do
The CHI Health Foundation strengthens healthcare in our community and the region by facilitating supportive relationships with those interested in advancing the CHI Health mission of healing the body, mind and spirit of every person.
As our community rises to the challenges presented by the COVID-19 global pandemic, the mental health crisis becomes more real than ever.
CHI Health Mercy Council Bluffs is building a therapy garden for our mental health patients to create a serene, colorful outdoor space to enhance their healing and recovery.
The healing benefits of sunlight and nature are well-documented, and this new outdoor environment and programming will support improvements in physical, spiritual and mental well-being.
An existing courtyard will be fully renovated into the new therapy garden and will include:
- music therapy
- pet therapy
- meditation and yoga
- prayer walk
- group recreation, such as basketball, soccer and tai chi
- artistic expression
- suitable outdoor spaces for group and individual therapy sessions
CHI Health Mercy serves about 2,500 people experiencing an acute mental health crisis each year. Join us in creating a safe space for our patients to heal in mind, body, and spirit. Learn more at https://give.chihealth.com/MCB-TherapyGarden.
