At Bread for the Journey Omaha, we believe that small grants can spark big changes. We help build vibrant communities, one micro-grant at a time, with a simple process that cuts through the red tape. Our board members seek out passionate, vision-driven individuals and organizations—people who see what’s needed in their community and have the heart to make it happen.
Our approach is rooted in trust. We trust our donors to give generously and wisely, and we trust our grantees to understand what their community needs most. Each grant we award is built on three key pillars:

This Giving Tuesday, we need your help to support these local changemakers. Every donation helps us fund the dreams that fuel community growth. With grants ranging from $500 to $3,000, we give promising ideas the start they need.

- 95% of our donations go directly into grants. We are in our 11th year and have awarded over 53 grants, all making a difference in our community.
- Blue bucket project recently launched. Kits are given to those interested in cleaning up their neighborhood while on a walk
- HOPE (helping other people every day) Heals is focused on suicide prevention and mental health awareness. Our grant helped with the costs to become a nonprofit
