What We Do
Bread for the Journey helps create vibrant communities one micro-grant at a time. Simple process. Board members look for vision, passion and faith! No red tape. Simply email us for a chance to meet and share your story. Nurturing the seeds of generosity in every human heart, we believe every community knows what is needed to make it whole. Our model is built on trust - trust our donors have in us to invest their donations wisely and trust that our grantees know what needs to be done. Grants are given based on three things. Passion - grantees know that what they are doing is right. Vision - they can see what needs to be done and the path to do it. Faith - in what they are doing and in whatever/whoever has called them to do it. Our greatest need is monetary donations that help us provide initial grants to get these nonprofits started. We grant $500 to $3000 to each good idea with passion, a vision, and the motivation to implement! See our website for stories on our past grants -
Interesting Info
  • 95% of our donations go directly into grants. We are in our ninth year and have awarded 33 grants, all making a difference in our community.
  • Blue bucket project recently launched. Kits are given to those interested in cleaning up their neighborhood while on a walk
  • HOPE (helping other people every day) Heals is focused on suicide prevention and mental health awareness. Our grant helped with the costs to become a nonprofit
