At the most basic level, Aspire Of Life is addressing the homelessness crisis by launching the Midwest shower project for the nearly 2,404 people experiencing homelessness in Omaha. This mission is much more than providing hygiene; it’s about eliminating barriers of opportunity and reconnecting people with their dignity. Aspire Of Life hopes to shatter the illusion of ‘otherness’ that dehumanizes the homeless. We aim to seed hope and rebuild humanity with safe, private showers. We believe showers can be a conduit to building relationships and trust among humans moving through homelessness, particularly among those that don’t actively seek services on their own. We are meeting our neighbors where they are, to get them to where they need to be.
- In one year, Aspire Of Life Inc has helped more than 57 homeless people to get a job, and fed more than 641 people.
- In 2021, our employment program had a 78% success rate.
- Our goals is provide people experiencing homelessness with a Mobile Shower and laundry by December 2022
