What We Do
Amplify Arts promotes unity, innovation, and progress in the arts to build strong and vibrant communities. We support the creative community in the Omaha Metro by providing resources and a platform for artists to present their ideas and work while connecting artists to the larger community through conversations, exhibitions, and performances. In order for artists to achieve true success in Omaha, we believe we must address both individual and systemic issues. To achieve that, we utilize a micro/macro approach to provide artists with holistic support.
Micro: We award $75,000 annually to individuals through our Artist Grants program. More than half of these grants are disbursed as unrestricted funds to support an artist's general creative practice or a specific project of their design. The remainder is awarded through program grants which support an artist's involvement in or a project tied to another Amplify Arts program.
Macro: We facilitate ArtStock, a coalition of 40+ organizations and individual artists working together to identify and pursue strategies to build greater strength and unity in the Omaha metro arts sector. Modeled after the Collective Impact framework, we use a democratic and action-oriented process to create a vision for the future, gather data on opportunities and challenges, and coordinate teams to carry out projects and strategies to make the vision a reality. Additionally, we engage artists and community members alike in Alternate Currents, our program for conversation, ideation, and action around national and global arts issues.
