What We Do

Amplify Arts promotes unity, innovation, and progress in the arts to build strong and vibrant communities. We support the creative community in the Omaha Metro by providing resources and a platform for artists to present their ideas and work while connecting artists to the larger community through conversations, exhibitions, performances, and projects. Our primary goal in bringing unity, innovation, and progress to the Omaha metro arts community is to build an environment where artists can thrive. We do this via a macro/micro approach to our programming. Our micro level programs provide resources that artists need now, our macro level programs work towards making larger shifts that will help artists thrive in the long run, and some programming falls into both categories:

Micro: Our Artist Grant program provides direct financial support to artists of all disciplines. Awards range from $500 to $10,000 via Micro Grants, Generator Grants, Artist Support Grants, and Public Impact Grants. Since 2016 we have awarded over $170,000 to 220 artists.

Macro: RE:Shape is the program area where we pursue projects that improve the ecosystem for artists at a systems level.

Both: We engage artists and community members alike in Alternate Currents, our program for conversation, ideation, and action around national arts issues. The three parts of the program include a 10 member Working Group, a blog, and a bimonthly series of panel discussions.
