What We Do

For over 50 years in Nebraska, the ACLU has worked in courts, legislatures, and communities to protect the constitutional and individual rights of all people. Beyond one person, party, or side - we the people dare to create a more perfect union. The ACLU also works to extend rights to segments of our population that have traditionally been denied their rights, including people of color, women, members of the LGBTQ+ community, system-impacted Nebraskans, and people experiencing disabilities.

Interesting Info
  • Our legal impact is as broad as the need. We continue to earn victories and launch landmark cases in our fight to protect the rights of ALL Nebraskans.
  • We strive to build a freer and fairer Nebraska by advocating in the legislature, the courts, in schools, cities and counties.
  • We center the voices of those with lived experience in our work. By empowering our community through authentic relationships, we can create lasting change.
