The Learning Community Center of North Omaha is seeking volunteers to support parents attending Parent University, a program designed to enable parents to better support their young children in school. Volunteers will assist with setting up rooms, serving food, helping school-age children with homework; and creating and supporting activities for school-age children. Parent University offers evening classes for parents living in the North Omaha area. Classes are scheduled Monday through Friday from 5:00pm - 8:00pm. The Center is located at 1612 North 24th Street, Omaha, NE 68110.
Candidates will, ideally, commit for one school semester (Spring, Summer. Fall) for a minimum of three hours per week, and have their own transportation. All volunteers will go through a background check. College students are particularly welcome!
