Job Title: Treasurer

Committee: Executive

Reports To: President

Effective Date: TBD Upon Start Date

Work Location: Offsite/Telework, ability to travel occasionally per team meetings

The mission of ThriVinci is to empower communities through skills-based service.  By sharing knowledge and talents, ThriVinci volunteers enable community agencies, who are advancing charitable causes and defending or preventing distress to vulnerable populations. We enable nonprofit organizations to adhere to organizational development best practices and data-driven solutions. Skills-based volunteers are responsible for:

Time Commitment

  • 3-5 hours per month no more than 5 hours per week

Primary Duties

Drafting and reporting necessary documents

  • Annual Budget 
  • General Ledger
  • Profit/Loss Statement
  • Balance Sheet
  • Statement of Financial Activities
  • Budget variance report at board meetings
  • 990 Filings and taxes
  • Biennial report (by April 1st, in odd years) with Secretary of State
  • Additional Grant Required Financial Documents

Keeping ThriVinci financially compliant

  • Schedule any required audits
  • Review and approve the organization's budget
  • Manage monetary policies that Balance Sheet and
  • State of Financial Activities needs
  • GAAP
  • Recording and bookkeeping

Other Duties

  • Participating in NAM Treasurer affinity group(s)
  • Align with NAMs guidelines and principles
    • Actively review NAMs guidelines and principles to implement them into your role
  • Train successor when you transition out of role

Candidate Requirements & Experience

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in finance, accounting or relevant field
  • Proven experience as a Treasurer, Financial Officer or related role
  • In-depth knowledge of financial, accounting and tax regulations, legislation and best practices
  • Excellent knowledge of the investment market, the stock market and the various methods of raising capital
  • Strong negotiation, decision-making and leadership skills
  • Good maths skills and the ability to work with financial data and analytics
  • Proficiency in financial management software (Quickbooks)
  • Knowledge of accounting, economics and finance
